Georgian Engraved Amethyst Rebus Chatelaine Fob Charm
Measuring 1 1/4 x 1/2 inches in overall dimensions; featuring a conforming, collet set, concave rectangular carved amethyst intaglio measuring approx. 14.5 x 11.0mm; set into a closed back tapering repousse charm, with acanthus and scroll work. Rococo influence. The rebus on the seal translates to "too wise not to be kind". Suspended from 20 inch 10k chain. Fashioned in 15K yellow gold (twisted bail on top is fashioned from 14K yellow gold). Circa 1835.
